Day 1: Marangu Gate – Mandara Hut

Your Marangu Route 6 Days adventure begins with a morning transfer from Moshi or Arusha to Marangu Gate. After registration and a safety briefing, start trekking through lush rainforest, rich in birdlife and blue monkeys.

Day 2: Mandara Hut – Horombo Hut

Day 3: Horombo Hut – Acclimatization Day

Arrive early, rest, and prepare for the summit attempt later that night.

Day 5: Kibo Hut – Uhuru Peak – Horombo Hut

  • Elevation: 4,700m → 5,895m → 3,720m

Begin the summit attempt around midnight. Ascend slowly to Gilman’s Point, then continue along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak, reaching the highest point in Africa at sunrise.

After celebrating and taking photos, descend carefully back to Horombo Hut for a well-deserved rest.

Day 6: Horombo Hut – Marangu Gate
